Restarting my business isn’t just about income. It’s about restoring my family’s well-being and keeping
my daughters’ dreams alive." Zar Zar Win, VisionFund Myanmar Client
Zar Zar (39) from Kyet Seint village Kyet Seint village in Sintgaing Township ran a small food business selling fried snacks, sustaining her family and two daughters (ages 7 and 10) with VisionFund Myanmar group loans since 2020. The March 2025 earthquake collapsed her living room, destroyed stability, and wiped out savings as sales dropped. Then another hardship followed, her husband was injured in a motorcycle accident and had to stop working at the rice factory, leaving Zar as the sole provider.
With no capital to restart, she took a 700,000 MMK recovery loan, enabling her to buy raw materials and revive her business. Today, she is rebuilding income, saving for home repairs, and ensuring her daughters stay in school. “Restarting my business isn’t just about income. It’s about restoring my family’s well-being,” she says.
